Greta Thunberg airs grievances against Davos speakers

Reuters reported on Tuesday that Greta Thunberg was detained during a protest against the development of a new mine and the demolition of structures in Lutzerath in the west of Germany

GENEVA, January 19. /TASS/. The audience at the World Economic Forum in Davos is listening to "people contributing most to [the] destruction of the planet," Swedish ecoactivist Greta Thunberg said on Thursday, cited by Agence France Presse.

"We are listening to them and not to the people that have indeed suffered from the climate crisis, the people living at the frontline, and it tells us how absurd the situation is," the activist said.

Reuters reported on Tuesday that Thunberg was detained during a protest against the development of a new mine and the demolition of structures in Lutzerath in the west of Germany. She was later released. Thunberg and other activists are going to attend a roundtable where Executive Director of the International Energy Agency Fatih Birol is scheduled to speak on Thursday, the news agency said.
