Interior Ministry points to attempts to incite Russians to commit offenses

These attempts have nothing to do with recruitment, deputy chief of the ministry’s anti-extremism department Tatyana Turchenyuk specified

MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. The Russian Interior Ministry managed to handle attempts to incite the country’s citizens to commit offenses after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, deputy chief of the ministry’s anti-extremism department Tatyana Turchenyuk told reporters.

"There were incidents involving attempted incitement to offenses but the Interior Ministry managed to handle them," she said.

According to Turchenyuk, those attempts had nothing to do with recruitment. "Recruitment is a more complicated thing, which requires people to share some ideas that make them commit one offense after another. What I am talking about are isolated incidents, and as for details, I will redirect you to our official source of information, the website of the Russian Interior Ministry," Turchenyuk said.

In early March, the Interior Ministry said that a number of ads had been detected through the monitoring of the Hydra platform on the Dark Web, as well as of social media networks and messaging services, which called for terrorist activities. Law enforcement officers found out that perpetrators had offered users money to conduct terrorist attacks and commit other crimes. The ministry said that ads calling for offenses had been spread by Ukraine-based call centers.
