MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. Rocket and Space Corporation Energia (part of Russian state aerospace corporation Roscosmos) plans to finalize the design of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) by November, the project’s chief designer Vladimir Kozhevnikov has told TASS.

Kozhevnikov, who is also RSC Energia’s deputy chief designer, said the first version of the design was completed in July and was sent to other scientific organizations, including the TSNIImash research institute, Tekhnomash, the research and testing center of the space rocket industry RKP and others. Each of those organizations provided its feedback.

"There has been no negative feedback. The process of getting approvals was lengthy and difficult, but this work is over now. We expect to complete the process of correcting the design by early November. After that, the latest version, which takes all feedback into account, will be submitted to the Roscosmos state corporation for final approval," Kozhevnikov said.

The project’s chief designer Vladimir Kozhevnikov told TASS in February that the first module - the scientific and energy module - is planned for late 2027. In his words, the node, gateway, base and purpose-oriented modules are planned for launch between 2028 and 2030.
