Lavrov’s visit to DPRK planned for this year in preparation — deputy foreign minister

According to Andrey Rudenko, the dialogue was started during the visit of North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui to Moscow in November last year

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. The visit of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov planned for this year is being prepared, Andrey Rudenko, the top diplomat’s deputy, told the media.

"We are working on the issue of Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov’s visit [to North Korea] aimed at maintaining strategic dialogue with our Korean friends," the deputy foreign minister said during a conference titled "Russia and India: Toward a New Bilateral Agenda" being hosted by the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC).

According to him, the dialogue was started during the visit of North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui to Moscow in November last year. "And we must continue this tradition, and this year, it is the turn of Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov. Therefore, the plans are ambitious. We will be implementing them," the diplomat added.
