Russia denies West’s accusations about use of riot control agents in Ukraine

According to the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Kirill Lysogorsky, Russia "immediately provided exhaustive explanations and initiated a counter inquiry insisting that Western countries provide evidence for their accusations"

THE HAGUE, November 27. /TASS/. Russia dismisses the West’s accusations of riot control chemical agents in Ukraine as groundless, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Kirill Lysogorsky said.

"In recent years, the United States and its Euro-Atlantic allies and satellites have been waging a large-scale disinformation campaign against our country," he said at the 28th Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). "The wide range of allegations about Russia violating its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) has been supplemented with groundless accusations of the use of riot control agents during the special military operation in Ukraine."

A relevant inquiry was initiated by Germany, its five key NATO partners and Japan. Russia "immediately provided exhaustive explanations and initiated a counter inquiry insisting that Western countries provide evidence for their accusations." "Germany’s reply that it has no concrete data showed the utter groundlessness of the accusations put forward by the criminal Kiev regime," he stressed.

According to Lysogorsky, such an approach "clearly reveals the abuse of the CWC." That is why, Russia made another inquiry to provide evidence to substantiate these claims. "We are still waiting for a response," he noted.
