Media from unfriendly countries not invited to Putin’s State of Nation Address — Kremlin

Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on foreign media accreditation to an open-air concert to be held a day after the president’s address to parliament

MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. The Kremlin will not issue accreditation to President Putin’s State of the Nation Address to be delivered on February 21 to foreign reporters from unfriendly countries, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

"As for the president’s address to the Federal Assembly, foreign media from friendly countries will get accreditation to it. We will not invite foreign media from unfriendly countries," Peskov said. However, "they will have the opportunity to work, while watching the address live on any [TV] channel, he added.

Peskov refused to comment on foreign media accreditation to an open-air concert to be held a day after the president’s address to parliament. He has said reporters would be notified in advance, if the event is on the president’s schedule.

The Kremlin press secretary announced earlier that Russian President Vladimir Putin would deliver his State of the Nation Address to the Federal Assembly next Tuesday. Apart from the traditional categories of guests, he said, participants in the special military operation would be attending.
