Muslim Brotherhood appoints Mahmoud Ezzat as interim leader

CAIRO, August 20 (Itar-Tass) - On Tuesday, Muslim Brotherhood  appointed Mahmoud Ezzat as interim leader. Local mass media reported that the appointment followed the Monday arrest Muslim Brotherhood's Supreme Guide Muhammad Badie, 70, who is currently kept in the Tora maximum security prison in the outskirts of Cairo.

The latter was discovered by Egypt's security services in an apartment in North-Eastern Cairo, not far from the Islamist camp disperced by the nation's military last week. 

On Saturday, August 17, local media reported that his son, Ammar, 37, has been killed in Friday clashes.
