KRASNOYARSK, January 17. /TASS/. The diesel fuel spill at a fuel and lubricants storage facility in Yartsevo village in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Region has been contained, head of the Yeniseisky District of the region Alexander Kuleshov told TASS.
"There is no threat to the settlement, no threat of further spillage or adverse environmental consequences. The situation was localized. The leak has been stopped. No fuel has entered the river. Now snow and soil will be gathered, treated with absorbents and then disposed of," Kuleshov said.
According to the head of the district, the fuel spill was caused by a faulty valve at the fuel depot.
The spill of about ten - twelve metric tons of diesel fuel occurred at a fuel and lubricants storage facility, acting director of Yeniseienergocom Roman Orishchuk told TASS earlier.
Specialists from the Yeniseisk emergency and rescue team went to the site to deal with the fuel spill response, Orishchuk said, without detailing the timeframe.
Yeniseienergocom is the local provider of heat, power supply, drainage and water supply.
