MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Ecuador hopes to increase its exports to Russia amid the Russian-US talks on settling the Ukrainian conflict, Ecuadorian Ambassador to Moscow Juan Fernando Holguin Flores said.
"Thanks to the ongoing talks on the potential ending of the conflict, a more favorable situation is expected to lead to the expansion of Ecuador’s exports to Russia in 2025. This year, Ecuador intends to expand the list of companies authorized to export to Russia, especially in the aquaculture sector. In addition, there is interest in strengthening exports of exotic fruits such as pitahaya, as well as processed products such as frozen broccoli," he said in an interview with the Izvestia daily.
The Ecuadorian diplomat stressed that Moscow remains Quito’s strategic partner.
Apart from that, according to the newspaper, a delegation from Russia’s car maker Avtovaz is expected to visit Ecuador within weeks to probe for opportunities to return to than country’s automotive market.
