Rescuers trying to save two crewmembers of sunk vessel from rocks

The operation is complicated by the worsening weather, Turkey’s Bartin Province Governor Sinan Guner said

ANKARA, January 17. /TASS/. Rescuers are trying to save from rocks two crewmembers of the dry cargo ship that sank on Sunday in the Black Sea off the Turkish coast, Turkey’s Bartin Province Governor Sinan Guner said.

"Rescuers are trying to evacuate two more crewmembers from sea rocks. The operation is complicated by the worsening weather," the Anadolu agency quoted him as saying.

The vessel sank near Turkey’s Inkumu, Bartin Province. Four crew members have died and six more have been saved.

The Russian embassy in Turkey told TASS earlier, Russian diplomats have been seconded to Bartin to help Russian nationals who might have been aboard the ship.

Meanwhile, the Russian Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport said earlier there had been 12 crewmembers, including two Russian nationals, aboard the vessels owned by a Ukrainian company.
