Hainan’s Sanya launches summer campaigns focusing on family tourism

HAIKOU /China/, June 22. /TASS/. The resort city of Sanya on the southern coast of Hainan Island announced the opening of a series of summer campaigns aimed at developing family tourism. This was reported by China News Service.

According to its information, the special offers will be valid until the end of August. The campaigns will cover both Sanya and its surrounding areas, which have numerous beaches, recreation centers and cultural attractions, including traditional villages. The opening ceremony of the season took place in the tourism zone adjacent to Dadonghai bay, one of the popular destinations for tourists, including those from Russia.

According to Li Yi, Chief Inspector of the Sanya Tourism Development Commission, the summer promotions will also affect the restaurant business. Visitors to Hainan can buy trips with an action-packed sports program, or explore the island by renting a trailer. Seafood lovers will be offered a number of places where they can enjoy fish delicacies of their choice.

According to Sanya Vice Mayor Huang Xingyu, authorities will be careful to ensure that the events are conducted in compliance with all safety standards. As he noted, the city administration "will ensure that tourists have a joyful and carefree holiday."

Sanya is China's leading resort, home to more than 1 million people. In 2022, its gross product was 84.71 billion yuan (about $12.2 billion). The city reaches an average annual temperature of 25.4 degrees Celsius and has a coastline of more than 200 kilometers. There are 19 bays and about 40 islands suitable for tourism in the surrounding waters, all of which enable the local government to successfully develop yachting and beach tourism.
