The Russian president also ordered to take measures providing for the use of solutions based on artificial intelligence in manufacturing and operation of drones

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Russia must establish itself as a technological leader in the field of unmanned aviation by the year 2030. This objective has been set by the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"The Russian Government, taking into account previously issued directives, is to ensure the accelerated development of the unmanned aviation industry to achieve technological leadership in this field by 2030. It must define specific target indicators that characterize such leadership and allocate funding for the corresponding initiatives," states the list of presidential instructions published on the Kremlin’s official website.

The president expects an initial report by June 1, followed by subsequent updates every six months.

Putin also ordered to take measures providing for the use of solutions based on artificial intelligence in manufacturing and operation of drones. The list of assignments in conclusion of the relevant meeting was posted on the Kremlin’s website.

The Russian government is tasked to perform this work together with the National Technological Initiative Platform and Sber. The assignment was given "for purposes of increasing self-dependence of unmanned aerial vehicles."
