Russian troops get Junker robotic parachute

The wing-type parachute is guided by GLONASS space navigation and lands with a precision of 100 meters in good weather

MOSCOW, November 10. /TASS/. The latest Junker-DG-250 cargo parachute with automatic control and GLONASS navigation has passed acceptance trials and is supplied to the Russian troops, Rostec said.

It can carry 250 kg of cargo and airdrop at a speed of 350 km/h and an altitude of 8000 meters. Rostec said it is designing a robotic Junker with a 500 kg carrying capacity.

The wing-type parachute is guided by GLONASS space navigation and lands with a precision of 100 meters in good weather. It also uses Follow Me system carried by a paratrooper and descends after him up to the landing site. It also has manual control regime for the operator. Several parachutes can fly in a caravan.
