Trump-Musk standoff showing signs of easing — media

The tone between the two on social networks has become more conciliatory amid public outcry

NEW YORK, June 6. /TASS/. The feud between US President Donald Trump and celebrity entrepreneur Elon Musk "shows signs of thawing," the Axios portal said.

According to Axios, the tone between the two on social networks has become more conciliatory amid public outcry. "There are signs that tensions between them might be easing," it said. Thus, Trump plans to hold a phone call with Musk, whereas the latter walked back his threat to decommission Dragon spacecraft that are used by the US to deliver astronauts and cargoes to the International Space Station.

On Thursday, Musk and Trump exchanged a series of barbed remarks. The tech mogul claimed Trump would not have won the 2024 election without his support, endorsed impeaching the current head of state, criticized the import tariffs introduced by the US leader, and warned of a US recession in late 2025. In turn, Trump accused Musk of failing his duties in government efficiency reforms (DOGE) and "just going crazy," and threatened to cancel SpaceX contracts and revoke subsidies.
