MOSCOW, December 29. /TASS/. The level of support for President Vladimir Putin among the Russians has become the highest this year, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The level of support of the president is consistently high," Peskov said. "This year, it has been obvious that it has become the highest due to the support of the president’s course, due to consolidation of the society around the head of state."

Commenting on the numbers of the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM), suggesting that the level of trust in Vladimir Putin stands at 80%, while the level of approval of his actions stands at 77.1%, Peskov said: "This is hardly news. […] This is not the first survey that confirms such high level of support."
