MOSCOW, December 9. /TASS/. Members of the Parliamentary Assembly (PA) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) make decisions jointly, Vyacheslav Volodin, a senior Russian lawmaker, said at the meeting with leaders of parliaments of the CSTO.
According to the Russian State Duma speaker, the CSTO parliamentary format has undergone a complex stage of formation. "When it comes to harmonizing legislation, it is crucial to consult with each member country before proposing a model law or a decision for adoption within the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. And this is not an easy task, since every legal norm requires discussion, a carefully calibrated position, as we make decisions collectively. Only then is a law or a model legal act submitted for consideration within the Parliamentary Assembly," he said.
The speaker added that eight model laws were adopted at the plenary session of the CSTO PA. "These are issues related to ensuring security, defense of the CSTO countries, issues related to migration and information security," he specified.
