West always speculates on food security issue — top Russian diplomat

"They have a certain habit of turning things upside down so that someone else is guilty, not the Western countries," Sergey Lavrov underlined

RIO DE JANEIRO, November 19. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pointed to the West's constant speculation on the issue of food security.

"The West is constantly speculating on this (the food security issue - TASS)," the top diplomat said at a press conference following his participation in the G20 summit. "They have a certain habit of turning things upside down so that someone else is guilty, not the Western countries," the top diplomat said at a press conference after attending the G20 summit.

He recalled the example often cited by Russian President Vladimir Putin. "The example of the feverish, ill-conceived emission during the pandemic, when the US and the EU printed over ten trillion dollars and euros and started buying up everything on the market, including food, preparing for self-isolation," he pointed out.

"That is when prices went up," the foreign minister noted.
