BEIJING, January 17. /TASS/. China’s GDP growth rates decreased to 3% in 2022 in annual terms, according to the report released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China on Tuesday.
Excluding 2020 when the country’s GDP growth rates fell to 2.2% due to the beginning of the pandemic, last year’s 3% is the poorest result since the end of the Cultural Revolution in 1976.
"According to preliminary estimates, GDP reached 121.02 trillion yuan (or around $18 trillion - TASS), up by 3% in annual terms," the report said.
GDP growth rates reached 4.1% in annual terms in agriculture, 3.8% in industry, and 2.3% in the services sector.
"GDP gained 4.8% in Q1, 0.4% in Q2, 3.9% in Q3, and 2.9% in Q4," according to the report.
In 2021, China’s GDP growth rates totaled 8.1%.
