Clear Zelensky won't be the one to decide about talks with Russia, says Lavrov

"Russian President Putin has repeatedly said that we have never refused to negotiate," the Russian foreign minister reiterated

MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. It is not Vladimir Zelensky who will decide on the issue of holding talks with Russia on the settlement of the conflict, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with reporter Marina Kim.

When asked whether there is an understanding that there can be no peace with the current Zelensky regime, the top diplomat recalled the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Russian President Putin has repeatedly said that we have never refused to negotiate. It is clear that it will not be Zelensky who decides this. We are being urged to engage in negotiations. They are trying to turn everything upside down, saying that it is Ukraine that wants to negotiate and Russia refuses. Putin has repeatedly said that Zelensky should be the one to at least cancel the decree from two years ago, which prohibits negotiations with the government of Vladimir Putin. I will not go any further into this," Lavrov emphasized.
