MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is personally engaged with the issue of Ukraine; there are no special envoys assigned to this matter in the Kremlin, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"President Vladimir Putin is directly involved in addressing this issue [of the conflict in Ukraine]. The special military operation is underway, and he is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces," the Kremlin spokesman said.
"We have no special envoy for this," Peskov responded to a question about Russia’s plans to appoint a special envoy on Ukraine, similar to the United States.
Earlier on November 13, Fox News reported on plans by US President-elect Donald Trump to appoint a special envoy for Ukraine, citing multiple sources. A very senior special envoy with significant credibility would be tasked with seeking a peace settlement, one of Fox News’ sources said, adding that the appointment could happen soon.
