Ukraine targets medics and journalists as priorities — military doctor

Santa noted that the medic’s red cross draws the attention of Ukrainian troops, so affiliation patches on uniforms must blend in, and identifying marks are also not applied to evacuation vehicles

MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces actively target medics and journalists when they detect their identification marks, according to a military doctor with the call sign "Santa" from the 374th Separate Communications Battalion of the North battlegroup, who spoke to TASS.

"We don't identify ourselves as press or medics in any way. If a drone detects you as a doctor, they will attempt to eliminate you, as the loss of a medic significantly increases sanitary losses for the unit," he explained to a reporter at an event at the Frunze Central House of the Russian Army.

Santa noted that the medic’s red cross draws the attention of Ukrainian troops, so affiliation patches on uniforms must blend in, and identifying marks are also not applied to evacuation vehicles.
