NEW YORK, December 21. /TASS/. US entrepreneur Elon Musk weighed in on Friday’s deadly car incident at a Christmas market in Germany’s Magdeburg.

"[German Chancellor Olaf] Scholz should resign immediately. Incompetent fool," Musk wrote on X below a user’s post that discussed the German head of government’s statements in the wake of the terrorist attack.

Meanwhile, Scholz will visit Magdeburg to assess the situation later on Saturday, minister-president of Saxony-Anhalt Reiner Haseloff told reporters.

On the evening of December 20, a dark BMW drove into the crowd at the Christmas market. At least 11 people were killed, and roughly 80 others were injured, Bild reported. Officials in the eastern German state of Saxony-Anhalt believe the attack was a terrorist act. The suspect, a Saudi national born in 1974, has been detained. The car he was driving had been rented.
