Elections can be held in various ways, Lavrov on Ukrainian situation

"We can only assess the legitimacy of an electoral process once it has taken place and we observe how it was organized," the top Russian diplomat emphasized

MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Elections can be conducted in multiple ways, and it is crucial that the process is carried out correctly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in an interview with journalist Marina Kim for the Novy Mir project, commenting on reports from the British magazine The Economist suggesting that presidential elections in Ukraine could take place as early as May 2025.

When asked whether potential elections in Ukraine would resolve the issue of the authorities' legitimacy and facilitate an agreement with the country's leadership afterward, the minister emphasized the need for an appropriate process that is well-organized.

"Elections can be arranged in different ways; just look at how elections were conducted in Moldova. We can only assess the legitimacy of an electoral process once it has taken place and we observe how it was organized," Lavrov emphasized.
