MOSCOW, May 31. /TASS/. Sberbank is operating as usual, and the situation with international settlements will not be affected by a potential removal from the international SWIFT transaction and messaging system, the press service of Russia’s largest bank said on Tuesday.

"Sberbank is operating as usual. The bulk of the restrictions are already in place, yet the removal from SWIFT will not affect the current situation with international settlements. The bank’s national operations do not depend on SWIFT and will be run as normal," the bank said in a statement.

The EU on Monday agreed a sixth package of sanctions against Russia, which also includes a partial embargo on Russian oil and disconnecting Sberbank from the global SWIFT system.
