Today a tank is the most protected and survivable vehicle on the battlefield. Modern tanks feature multi-layered armor made of various materials and explosive reactive armor. Also, active protection systems are being developed for tanks to shoot down incoming missiles and shells. In modern conflicts, tanks withstood several hits from anti-tank missile systems.
High Precision Systems earlier developed Kornet anti-tank missile systems capable of hitting armored targets at a range of up to 10 km. According to open sources, a munition is capable of piercing over 1m homogeneous armor.
