Four new Russian regions moving toward self-sufficiency at a rapid pace — Putin

According to the head of state, tax revenues have seen a consistent increase in absolute figures

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Russia’s four new regions possess significant potential in terms of taxpayers, and they have been progressing toward self-sufficiency at a remarkable pace, President Vladimir Putin said at the combined Direct Line Q&A session and his annual press conference.

"The taxpayer base there is solid, and recovery has been advancing rapidly, with all these regions becoming increasingly independent," Putin said, referring to the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

According to Putin, tax revenues have seen a consistent increase in absolute figures.

The president reassured that Russia would continue to support those regions. "The country has been doing so and will continue doing so until these regions are fully integrated into Russia socially and economically," he explained.
