DUBAI, March 20. /TASS/. Over 70 people have been killed in Israel's overnight strikes on the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip, the Al Jazeera TV channel reported.
At least 71 people were killed due to airstrikes and shelling of the towns of Beit Lahia, Khan Yunis, and Rafah in the southern part of the enclave. Dozens of Palestinians were injured, and many are still missing, the TV channel said.
On March 18, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported widespread strikes on Hamas strongholds in the Gaza Strip. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said that Israel had resumed military operations in Gaza after Hamas rejected the US proposals put forward by mediators and US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff. The office stated that the Israeli military had resumed strikes on Hamas targets in Gaza to secure the release of hostages and that the army would escalate its campaign in the enclave. The radicals have blamed the United States for the renewal of Israeli aggression.
According to the latest figures from the Gaza Health Ministry, the number of people killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza has reached 436, and at least 678 others have been injured.
