On March 18, the Israeli army carried out large-scale attacks on the Gaza Strip

DUBAI, March 19. /TASS/. The number of people killed in new Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 14, the Qatar-based Al Jazeera TV channel reports.

According to the broadcaster, the Israeli Air Force carried out a series of strikes on the cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis in the south of the Palestinian enclave early on Wednesday. A residential building in Gaza City also came under attack; the building was destroyed and there were casualties among its residents.

On March 18, the Israeli army carried out large-scale attacks on the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the move was due to Hamas' rejection of proposals made during talks with mediators and US special envoy Steve Witkoff. According to the Israeli authorities, the operation’s goal is to ensure the release of the hostages held in Gaza. Hamas, in turn, blamed Israel and the US for the resumption of military activities.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 400 people have killed and over 560 injured in the latest round of escalation in Gaza.
