Imangali Tasmagambetov noted that relevant planned operational and preventive measures are being carried out to maintain stability in the Eurasian region

MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has successfully carried out a series of measures to combat terrorism and the spread of narcotic drugs in 2024, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov announced at a meeting of security council secretaries from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries in Moscow.

"In 2024, an anti-terrorist operation, symbolically named 'Mercenary-2024,' was successfully carried out. Its objective was to block the channels for recruiting and sending citizens of CSTO member states to participate in terrorist activities. The 'Channel' operation, aimed at curbing the spread of narcotic drugs, is also being actively implemented," he emphasized.
