WASHINGTON, November 6. /TASS/. US Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is expected to win in the states of Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Illinois, according to US media.
Associated Press projects Harris to win in Maryland, which has ten electoral votes and has supported Democratic candidates since 1992.
Fox News and AP expect her to win in Connecticut. With less than 1% of ballots counted, Harris has the support of 68% voters, while Donald Trump has about 30%. However, leading US media are convinced that Trump has no chance of winning, judging by first results and poll data. The area has traditionally supported Democratic candidates since 1992 and has seven electoral votes.
With around 3% of ballots counted in Rhode Island, Harris has the support of over 50%, while Trump received around 46% of the vote, Fox News and AP said. The state has traditionally supported Democratic candidates since 1988 and has four electoral votes.
Another state expected to support the Democratic candidate is Illinois, where about 7% of ballots have already been counted. Harris has over 58%, while Trump has about 40%. The state has supported Democratic candidates since 1992 and has 19 electoral votes.
