MOSCOW, October 15. /TASS/. Attempts of the United States and other Western countries to force democracy on countries of the Middle East and North Africa are failing, Russian Foreign Ministry’s human rights ombudsman Konstantin Dolgov told Russian News Service radio on Thursday.
"The situation with refugees is one of manifestations of this crash" he said, calling this activity of the West "erroneous and vicious". Dolgov said this activity was the prime cause of the migrant crisis in Europe.
"Democracy cannot be brought from outside. We have repeatedly said this. If these attempts, coming first of all from the US, stop, we will see certain normalization from the point of view of situation with refugees" the diplomat said.
He said Russia was open for cooperation on refugees. "We are ready to share the big positive experience accumulated by our country in this sphere, if our European partners demonstrate will and readiness," said Dolgov, the Foreign Ministry Ombudsman for Human Rights, Democracy and Supremacy of Law.
