YALTA, March 27. /TASS/. Participants in an international research and diplomatic congress dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Yalta (Big Three) Conference will discuss the future world order, the formation of a multipolar world and Russia’s role in these processes.
The conference, organized by the Russian Foreign Ministry among others, will bring together government officials, historians, and heads of leading academic institutions, as well as foreign experts and public figures. The event has special importance with regard to the upcoming anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations and Russia’s commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and international law in general.
According to the organizers, the delegates will address pressing geopolitical challenges "at a time of a shifting balance of power, dialogue and cooperation between the leading world powers, as well as the development of the new principles of a just and equal world order."

According to Kirill Logvinov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department of International Organizations, the congress will be the first in a series of events dedicated to the United Nations’ anniversary.
"We will discuss both the historical and contemporary aspects of global politics, from the foundations of the post-war world order to the future multipolar world," the diplomat noted.
Logvinov stressed that one of the main goals of the congress was to reaffirm commitment to the international legal system enshrined in the key provisions of the UN Charter.
