Top Russian diplomat reminds his US counterpart about Anchorage agreements on Ukraine

Sergey Lavrov expressed regret that the high-handed efforts of the European elites and the Kiev regime are undermining these agreements

MOSCOW, May 25. /TASS/. In a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reminded him of the Anchorage agreements on Ukraine and expressed regret that they had been undermined by the "aggressive efforts" of the European elites and Kiev, the Foreign Ministry reported.

"The minister recalled the agreements reached at the highest level at the suggestion of the US in Anchorage in August 2025 regarding the Ukrainian conflict and expressed regret that the high-handed efforts of the European elites and the Kiev regime are undermining these agreements, which paved the way for a sustainable long-term settlement based on a balance of interests," the statement said.
