Creation of digital labs in CIS to allow West to manipulate public opinion — FSB head

Alexander Bortnikov especially highlighted "the activity of Britons and EU countries in assisting the promotion of digitalization projects in the financial sphere, trade and transport of some CIS states"

IRKUTSK, May 26. /TASS/. The deployment of digital labs in CIS countries will allow the West to create the mechanisms of manipulating public opinion, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov said at a meeting of the Council of CIS Security Service Heads.

"According to available information, the Western intelligence community is behind the programs of creating a network of digital laboratories in the CIS space tasked with gathering and studying typical behavioral profiles of the population using artificial intelligence technologies, identifying points of tension in society and modeling social reactions to various external factors, including actions by authorities," the FSB head said.

As Bortnikov pointed out, "this actually implies introducing tools of manipulative impact on citizens’ sentiments and behavior inside the CIS, taking into account the specifics of a particular state" and "this is being done, in particular, to implement adaptive scenarios of a color revolution."

The FSB head especially highlighted "the activity of Britons and EU countries in assisting the promotion of digitalization projects in the financial sphere, trade and transport of some CIS states."
