Bulgaria sends lots of weapons to Ukraine, MP tells TASS

A member of the National Assembly of Bulgaria Angel Georgiev emphasized that it was a huge mistake

MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. Bulgaria has sent lots of its weapons to Ukraine, Angel Georgiev, a member of the National Assembly of Bulgaria, told TASS in an interview as he criticized that as a huge mistake.

When asked if the US NATO bases in Bulgaria had been used for weapons supplies to Ukraine, Georgiev said: "We cannot say 'yes' because this may me classified information." "But this is logical, since Bulgaria has provided Ukraine with weapons," he argued. "We have supplied lots of Bulgarian weapons to Ukraine. And that is a huge mistake. A huge mistake, because we should not have done so," he added.

"When you turn on the TV, they speak about Ukraine all day long, but nobody says what is happening in Africa or how many people get killed there every day. That’s a shame. They tell only half of the story. In a democratic society with democratic mass media, the truth should be told, rather than being distorted or manipulated," the Bulgarian MP maintained. "Therefore, we are against weapons transfers. That is a very bad decision," he said.

Georgiev, who recently led a parliamentary delegation to Russia, stressed that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the EU’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas make dangerous decisions. "Our mission at the European Parliament is to dismiss Ursula von der Leyen and Kaja Kallas from their posts, because they make decisions that are dangerous for Europe," he noted.
