Hackers attack Russia every day, mainly from Ukraine — Foreign Ministry

"They act with the support of Western governments, special services, it's so-called IT-army, which often secretly uses Ukrainians’ communication means in order to attack our citizens," Artur Lyukmanov noted

MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Russia is subjected to cyberattacks on a daily basis, primarily from Ukraine, Artur Lyukmanov, director of the Foreign Ministry’s International Information Security Department and Russian Presidential Envoy for International Cybersecurity Cooperation, told reporters.

"They (cyberattacks - TASS) are not only observed, but are attempted on a daily basis. Ukraine is the main perpetrator of these attacks, primarily against citizens," he said, answering a TASS question about increased cyberattacks on Russia from abroad amid the recent major events in the country - the terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall and flooding.

"They act with the support of Western governments, special services, it's so-called IT-army, which often secretly uses Ukrainians’ communication means in order to attack our citizens," Lyukmanov added. "We live with it, we are obliged to do so. That is why our citizens must be extremely careful when receiving calls or messages from unverified sources," he added.
