MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Russia’s 2nd Western District military court sentenced members of the "Russian volunteer corps" (deemed terrorist and outlawed in Russia) Denis Kapustin and actor Kirill Kanakhin (included in the list of extremists and terrorists in Russia) to life behind bars for their involvement in the incursion into the Bryansk Region.
"The court found the defendants guilty and has sentenced them to a lifetime in prison. Kapustin was also ordered to pay a fine of 2.5 million rubles, while Kanakhin was fined two million rubles," the judge read out.
Defendants Alexander Galanov, Anton Zyryanov and Alexey Ogurtsov were also given life sentences with fines of two million rubles each. The court also ordered that the convicted individuals pay ten million rubles in civil lawsuits and 3.5 million rubles to municipal services.

All defendants are currently outside Russia and are fighting for Ukraine against Russian forces. Two defendants previously already received life sentences. In November, Kapustin was sentenced in absentia for organizing the attack on the Bryansk Region and a number of other crimes. In February, 2023, Kanakhin was also sentenced to life in prison for taking part in the attack on the Bryansk Region and participating in hostilities against the Russian Armed Forces in the Kherson Region.
