Putin begins speech at Valdai plenary session

It was stressed that the event "promises to be very, very important"

MOSCOW, October 27./TASS/.Russian President Vladimir Putin has begun his speech at a plenary session of the annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

As Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained earlier, Putin will deliver an extensive report, which will be followed by a discussion. The session will be moderated by Valdai scientific director Fyodor Lukyanov, journalist and political analyst.

The event "promises to be very, very important," the spokesman stressed. Peskov declined to announce in advance which topics the president would touch upon.

He noted, however, that "for sure, a lot of people will analyze its [Putin’s speech] content afterwards, study, read and re-read it".
