Helicopter crashes three kilometers from Murmansk airport, four people injured

It is reported that the crash was caused by pilot error or equipment failure

TASS, February 28. A helicopter crashed near Murmansk on landing approach, emergency services told TASS on Tuesday.

"A helicopter crashed when landing three kilometers from Murmansk airport. There were eight people on board, according to preliminary information, four people were injured," the source said.

According to the services, the crash was caused by pilot error or equipment failure.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry's press service told TASS that according to preliminary information there were nine people on board the helicopter.

"Tentatively, there were nine people on board, three of whom were crew members. Rescuers arrived at the site. There were no fatalities, the passengers are being transported by snowmobiles to the village of Lovozero," the Emergencies Ministry said.
