US and Ukraine to sign resource agreement in near future — Trump

US president did not indicate when or where exactly the agreement would be signed

WASHINGTON, March 21. /TASS/. The United States and Ukraine will sign an agreement on Ukrainian resources in the near future, US President Donald Trump said speaking at the White House.

"And one of the things we are doing is signing a deal very shortly, with respect to rare earths with Ukraine, which they have tremendous value in rare earth, and we appreciate that," Trump said.

He did not indicate when or where exactly the agreement would be signed.

The US President said he had issued an executive order regarding the extraction of critical resources by the United States.

"Moments ago, I also signed an executive order to dramatically increase production of critical minerals and rare earths. It's a big thing in this country. And as you know, we're also signing agreements in various locations to unlock rare earths and minerals and lots of other things all over the world, but in particular Ukraine," he stressed.

On February 28, Zelensky arrived at the White House for a meeting with US President Donald Trump. During their conversation in front of journalists, an argument erupted, during which Trump pointed out Zelensky’s disrespectful attitude toward the United States, and US Vice President JD Vance stressed Zelensky’s ungratefulness for the support Washington had provided to Kiev. The press conference that followed their meeting was canceled, and the signing of a US-Ukraine mineral deal did not occur.

After the meeting, Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social that Zelensky "can come back when he is ready for peace." —0—art.
