MOSCOW, May 25. /TASS/. The Kalashnikov Group will showcase its own Skat-220 fixed wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) at a security forum sponsored by the Russian Security Council in the Moscow Region, the company reported on its Telegram channel.
"The Kalashnikov Group will present its newest Skat-220 unmanned aerial vehicle for the first time at the International Security Forum under the auspices of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, which will be held on May 26-29, 2026, at the Live Arena multi-purpose live entertainment venue (Novoivanovskoye, Moscow Region)," the statement reads.
The new UAV is based on the Skat-350M drone, but has a smaller wingspan of 2.20 m and a lighter weight of 12 kg, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 160 km/h.
The Skat-220 UAV is equipped with an electric engine, can stay in the air for more than 150 minutes, launches from a catapult, and is adapted for parachute landing. Kalashnikov noted that the drone can be applied in the sphere of security and safety, for environmental protection, agriculture purposes, for monitoring of extended fuel and energy complex facilities, transport infrastructure, and power transmission lines.
