KAZAN, 13 November. /TASS/. A tree planting ceremony attended by a delegation from China was held on the territory of the Gabdulla Tuqay Garden in Kazan. It marked the beginning of the 2nd International Forum Rostki: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation, TASS reports.
"Today we are planting 12 spruce trees. <...> It's important for us <...>, opening the Rostki International Forum, that we are holding a noble, good event in a symbolic place, in Gabdulla Tuqay's park. Our great poet, Gabdulla Tuqay, who was able to describe the traditions and customs of the Tatar people in verse," said Tatarstan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Alexander Shadrikov in his welcoming speech.
He noted that this will become a symbol of friendly relations between Russia and China.
Jin Wenjun, Secretary General of the China Alliance for High Quality Development of Future Education and Vice Chairman of the Future Educational Equipment Branch of the China Educational Equipment Industry Association, stressed that relations between Russia and China are at a high level. "We believe that the future will be even better. I really hope that our cooperation will <...> be <...> long. We hope it will be profitable and prosperous," he said.
The Gabdulla Tuqay Garden is located in the centre of Kazan and covers an area of 8.5 thousand square metres.
The International Forum Rostki: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation will be held in Kazan on 13-15 November. The Forum's business program includes 70 sessions on trade, investment, technology, logistics, petrochemicals, agriculture, education, tourism and other topics. More than 10,000 participants are expected to attend, including representatives from 69 Russian regions and 26 Chinese administrative divisions. The Forum will also host the Russia China Expo international exhibition and will offer an extensive cultural program to all participants.
