MOSCOW, April 28. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on the Easter holiday, noting its profound moral sense. Some extracts from the telegram were published on Sunday on the government’s website.
"Easter is the main Christian holiday which has deep moral sense and bears the light of belief, symbolizing the triumph of life and the victory over death," the telegram says.
Medvedev noted that on this day the hearts of the Orthodox believers are filled with love, hope and joy. "On this day everyone strives to do as many good deeds as possible, offer their attention and care to their family and provide help to all who need it," the prime minister noted.
Dmitry Medvedev earlier attended Easter service in Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Russian President Vladimir Putin was also present at the service.
