TASS, SCO discuss plans for future cooperation

TASS Director General Sergei Mikhailov said the parties had discussed, in particular, the adoption of a new version of the 2016 cooperation agreement

BEIJING, March 1. /TASS/. TASS Director General Sergei Mikhailov has held a meeting with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Secretary General Vladimir Norov in Beijing. The parties expressed readiness to boost interaction and discussed plans for future cooperation.

"We have reached an agreement on future cooperation," Mikhailov said following the meeting. "In particular, we talked about practical preparations for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit that will take place in Russia’s Chelyabinsk in 2020," he added.

Mikhailov also said the parties had discussed the adoption of a new version of the 2016 cooperation agreement between TASS and the SCO. According to him, TASS has issued more than 7,500 stories dedicated to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization since then. "We are ready to continue this work and are waiting for news from the SCO," he emphasized.
