Russia was and stays ready for massive cyberattacks — Deputy Foreign Minister

"A set of appropriate administrative and technical measures is being taken at the state level, Oleg Syromolotov said

MOSCOW, January 28. /TASS/. Russia has always been ready for massive cyberattacks and continues to strengthen its information security, Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov said in an interview with TASS.

"The effectiveness of the malicious computer activity carried out from Ukrainian territory against Russia clearly does not meet the expectations of Western curators. We were ready for massive attacks," he said. The diplomat stressed that the Russian authorities "pay considerable attention to strengthening information security."

"A set of appropriate administrative and technical measures is being taken at the state level. Protection systems are constantly being improved," he stressed.

Syromolotov recalled that just the other day it became public that Kiev had joined the NATO cyber defense center in Tallinn.
