MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. Russia’s Interior Ministry is taking additional measures to ensure the security of Crimea, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said on Wednesday.
"Our work in Crimea and Sevastopol is a priority because we know that our neighbors will stop at nothing. They have no idea of things such as decency and humanity so we can expect anything from them so we will continue to do our best to prevent them from doing anything on our territory," Kolokoltsev pointed out, addressing the Federation Council (the upper house of parliament).
The interior minister emphasized that all police officers were determined to detect any terrorist attacks and extremist activities which are in the works. "We are working in this direction in cooperation with our colleagues from other law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies. This work has already produced results," Kolokoltsev noted.
The minister specified that two organizations had been designated as terrorist in 2022 based on the Interior Ministry’s information, and another three organizations had been labeled as extremist. "Certainly, all of them are mostly pro-Ukrainian and extremist," Kolokoltsev said.
In addition, police are tracking down all those who arouse reasonable suspicion.
