MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. Sunflower oil exports from Russia to India surged twofold as of the end of 2023, while soybean oil exports increased by a factor of three, head of Agroexport federal center Dmitry Krasnov said at an online conference.
"Last year, we scaled up sunflower oil exports to India twofold in physical terms; exports of soybean oil to India - threefold in physical terms," Krasnov said. Russian agricultural exports to India increased by 3.5 times over the last three years, he noted.
Sunflower oil that accounted for 77% of total exports, soybean oil, lentils, peas and cilantro became the main commodity positions in the Russian agricultural exports to India last year, the expert said.
"We have identified the most promising products to increase deliveries to India during the research. Their aggregate potential by 2030 can be over $2 bln, which is twice above 2023 exports. Supplies could be much higher if import customs duties are softened. The greatest incremental growth will be provided by vegetable oils, pulses, beverages and feeds," Krasnov added.
