Demand for Russian goods in China to be strong support for bilateral cooperation — expert

Xu Dingbos expressed confidence that changes in Sino-American relations do not threaten economic cooperation between China and Russia, which has "solid economic logic and foundations"

BEIJING, March 21. /TASS/. High demand for Russian goods in China will be a strong support for bilateral cooperation, which in turn will help develop a multipolar structure of international relations, Professor of the Department of Accounting at Essilor China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), Deputy Dean, Xu Dingbos, told TASS.

"Besides China’s huge demand for Russian energy and other natural resources, the 1.4 billion Chinese consumers’ strong interests in Russian consumer and cultural products are actually a more enduring pillar to support long-term collaboration between the two nations," he said commenting on factors that influence the interaction between Moscow and Beijing.

As the expert noted, economically China and Russia largely complement each other. According to him, Russia can benefit from China's advanced manufacturing capabilities and technologies. In addition, Xu Dingbo believes that China's solid domestic savings can become an important source of capital for investment in Russia.

The professor expressed confidence that changes in Sino-American relations do not threaten economic cooperation between China and Russia, which has "solid economic logic and foundations."

"And politically, close cooperation between China and Russia will help the world develop a much-needed multipolar structure," he added.

The expert also noted that multilateral cooperation will allow the international community to overcome risks and uncertainties, "caused by the American Government’s selfish and disruptive policies."
