Wholesale potato prices record high in Ukraine

Fresh potato prices surged by 40% over the last three weeks and were above the price in the European Union, the FAO economist Andriy Yarmak added

MOSCOW, January 11. /TASS/. Wholesale potato prices in Ukraine soared by a factor of four and became record high, FAO economist Andriy Yarmak said, cited by the UNIAN news agency.

"Wholesale potato prices in Ukraine are now the highest in history," the economist said. "Prices for this commodity actually surged by 3.5 - 4 times over the year <…>, making imports viable, Yarmak noted.

Fresh potato prices surged by 40% over the last three weeks and were above the price in the European Union, the economist added.
