MOSCOW, April 24. /TASS/. European countries are openly preparing for a war with Russia they anticipate in in 2030, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu told TASS.
"An open campaign for getting prepared for a military conflict with Russia is unfolding in Europe. Possible timeframes for such confrontation - from three to five years - are being voiced at various level," he said. "European politicians and the military want to be ready to fight against us already in 2030."
He noted that despite the Kiev authorities attempts to protract hostilities and "sell Ukraine’s natural resources, its territory, and the future of the Ukrainian people to Europe at a higher price" in exchange for financing and weapons, the country’s military, economic, and mobilization potential has been weakened.
"The economy is in a state of a profound crisis and depends on Western assistance, with the public debt continuing to grow. In 2024, it reached $167 billion," Shoigu pointed out. "However, despite loud statement, the countries that support them (the Kiev authorities - TASS) cannot satisfy Kiev’s entire demand in the military sphere.".
